STILLER HUNGER (SILENT HUNGER)

When you think of child poverty, images of children in Africa come to mind, but not in wealthy Germany. Yet even here, every 5th child is affected by poverty. Rising living costs and industrially produced food lead to malnutrition in children and adults - to a 'silent hunger' without social outcry. Filmmaker Eren Önsöz portrayed those affected in the state capital Düsseldorf. But also people who are involved in voluntary work and for whom good nutrition means more than just food intake. A highly topical and touching film that focuses on the children and reminds us that the way to the heart is through the stomach. She works together with camaraman Eren Aytekin, who you can see at work in the picture.

The documentary premiered on September 23, 2024. Due to the interest of several festivals, the documentary will be available for viewing via this website only after January 2025. If you want to see it earlier, please write an email to Dennis Meyer.
