Working method

Our five stages of process

The way we approach each edition unfolds in the following stages:

  1. Mapping the ecosystem– identifying local stakeholders, existing initiatives, and areas of urgency.
  2. Connecting and activating– creating spaces for dialogue, workshops, and joint planning.
  3. Co-creating projects– linking initiatives, sharing research, and coordinating activities.
  4. Supporting and strengthening– offering expertise, knowledge, and practical tools.
  5. Embedding and sustaining– anchoring successful collaborations structurally and sharing best practices to ensure lasting impact.

Through this approach, 10Children operates as a powerful flywheel for change: local energy is transformed into collective action. Awareness expands, networks deepen, and collaboration becomes sustainable. What emerges is not only an artistic initiative, but a movement that strengthens communities and advances meaningful social change. Out of our collaboration various artistic initiatives are born.

Project framework

At the heart of each edition are always the stories of the children and their perspectives. They are the authors and the experts. Out of our collaboration various artistic initiatives are born.

Performance

Made by professional actors, dancers and/or musicians created and performed in close collaboration with the children. The performances are presented in the local language and address the inevitable consequences of poverty.

Documentary

Portraying the daily life of children and their families based on what they want to show. The main focus is the voice of the children, their struggle and courage, their concerns and dreams. The documentaries are made by talented, local professionals.

Visual arts

Where local and international artists collaborate with children. The exhibitions contain: photo- and videography, painting, sculpture, installations and more. The quality of the artists and the raw sincerity of the children creates exciting and powerful work.

Educational program

Developed in cooperation with the local partners and will be available for schools, theatre's and NGO's. These programmes will also be part of the general educational 10Children box.

Context program

Meetings with experts, discussions, lectures, workshops. Here the collaboration with the different NGO’s and universities will be crucial.

Opening night

is where all the art-projects are presented to a general audience, to local and national politicians, NGO’s, influential members of the community, press and of course to the children and their families. After this event all the art projects will stay available for a long period for schools and a general audience. The goal is to generate publicity for the stories of the children and hopefully create some change in the way their lives are perceived, locally, regionally and globally.
